We can treat a wide range of benign lesions including skin tags, moles, warts, verrucas, milia, seborrhoeic keratoses, and cherry angiomas. All lesions must be benign.

Aqualyx is an injectable treatment designed to reduce stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. It contains a solution that breaks down fat cell membranes, causing the fat cells to become unstable and dissolve. The released fatty acids are then naturally eliminated by the body through the lymphatic system. This treatment is not a weight-loss method but is ideal for contouring and refining specific areas.

Aqualyx can be used in several areas where stubborn fat commonly sits. These include under the chin, jowls, upper arms, abdomen, flanks (“love handles”), inner thighs, outer thighs (“saddlebags”), hips, and around the knees.

Most clients require between two and four sessions for best results, with treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. The exact number depends on the area being treated, the amount of fat, and your individual goals. Some clients see improvement after one session, but a course is usually recommended.

Downtime is minimal, but you can expect some swelling, redness, and tenderness in the treated area for a few days after the procedure. Bruising and firmness under the skin are also common and can take up to two weeks to settle. Most clients return to normal activities straight away, although we advise avoiding vigorous exercise, swimming, or heat treatments for a few days.

Common side effects include swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, and a mild burning sensation at the injection site. These effects are temporary and part of the treatment process. Rare risks such as infection, allergic reaction, or uneven results will be discussed during consultation.

Aqualyx is suitable for adults who are close to a healthy weight but struggle with stubborn pockets of fat that don’t respond to diet and exercise. It is not designed for overall weight loss. The treatment is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, liver or kidney disease, certain metabolic conditions, or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. A full consultation is always carried out to ensure suitability.

Once the treated fat cells are destroyed, they cannot return. However, maintaining results requires a healthy lifestyle, as remaining fat cells in the body can still enlarge with weight gain.

Aqualyx contains deoxycholic acid, a compound naturally found in the body that helps to break down dietary fat. In this treatment, it is combined with a specially formulated buffer solution to ensure it disperses evenly and safely into the targeted area. Together, these ingredients disrupt the membranes of fat cells, causing them to dissolve so the body can naturally eliminate the released fatty acids through the lymphatic system.
