This practical half-day course is designed to give practitioners the knowledge and confidence to safely introduce microneedling into clinical practice.

Training covers skin anatomy, wound-healing response, treatment indications, patient selection, contraindications, device and needle-depth selection, treatment protocols, aftercare and complication management.

Delegates will also learn how microneedling can be adapted for different skin concerns including ageing, pigmentation, scarring, texture and overall skin rejuvenation.

A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on practical training with live models, allowing delegates to develop safe technique, treatment planning skills and confidence in delivering effective, individualised treatments.

Microneedling Training

Delegates will learn the principles required to safely assess, select and treat patients using professional microneedling techniques. Training includes:

  • Skin anatomy and physiology
  • Principles of controlled micro-injury
  • Wound-healing response
  • Collagen and elastin stimulation
  • Patient assessment
  • Patient selection
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Skin preparation
  • Device and needle principles
  • Treatment depth
  • Treatment intensity
  • Treatment areas
  • Clinical endpoints
  • Treatment protocols and intervals
  • Complication prevention
  • Infection prevention
  • Aftercare
  • Managing patient expectations

The aim is to help delegates understand how microneedling treatment should be adapted according to the patient’s skin condition, treatment area and intended clinical outcome.

Skin Assessment & Treatment Planning

Good skin treatment begins with assessment. Delegates will develop a structured approach to evaluating:

  • Skin type
  • Skin condition
  • Primary patient concerns
  • Medical history
  • Previous treatments
  • Pigmentation risk
  • Barrier health
  • Sensitivity
  • Treatment expectations
  • Appropriate treatment intensity
  • Appropriate treatment sequencing

Particular emphasis is placed on identifying patients who may be at increased risk of irritation, pigmentary change or other adverse outcomes.

Practical Live-Model Training

A significant proportion of the face-to-face session is dedicated to practical treatment. Delegates will participate in:

  • Consultation
  • Skin assessment
  • Patient selection
  • Clinical photography
  • Treatment planning
  • Microneedling treatment
  • Product and treatment selection
  • Identifying appropriate clinical endpoints
  • Aftercare
  • Documentation

Training is delivered within a supportive small-group environment with close supervision and individual feedback. The aim is not simply to complete the procedure, but to understand why the treatment has been selected and how it should be adapted to the individual patient.

The practical session typically runs from 9:00am until 12:30pm.

Where does training take place?

Training is delivered at Aesthetic Precision Medical Training Academy in Ramsgate, Kent.
