Build Strong Foundations in Facial Assessment, Volume Restoration & Dermal Filler Treatment
Online Pre-Learning | Full Practical Training Day | Live Models | Small-Group Training
Our Foundation Dermal Filler Course is designed for registered healthcare professionals beginning their journey into aesthetic medicine and wanting to develop a strong clinical foundation in dermal filler treatment.
Successful filler treatment involves far more than learning where to place a needle.
Understanding facial anatomy, the ageing process, volume loss, patient assessment, product selection and appropriate treatment planning are fundamental to achieving safe, natural-looking outcomes.
Your learning therefore begins before you arrive at the Academy with structured online pre-learning, followed by a dedicated full day focused solely on Dermal Filler.
This allows your face-to-face training to concentrate on applying that knowledge clinically, developing your assessment skills and gaining meaningful hands-on experience treating live models under close supervision.
Who Is This Course For?
The Foundation Dermal Filler Course has been developed for appropriately registered healthcare professionals looking to begin providing dermal filler treatments within aesthetic practice.
No previous dermal filler injecting experience is required.
The course provides the underpinning theoretical knowledge, assessment principles and supervised practical experience needed to begin developing your skills safely and confidently.
Online Pre-Learning
Your learning begins before you arrive.
Before attending the Academy, delegates complete structured online e-learning introducing the foundation principles of dermal filler treatment.
This provides the underpinning knowledge required before your practical training day and allows valuable face-to-face time to be used for clinical application rather than introducing every concept for the first time.
When you arrive at the Academy, we can concentrate on bringing that knowledge together through anatomy, facial assessment, treatment planning, clinical discussion and supervised practical treatment.
What You Will Learn
Your Foundation Dermal Filler training introduces the key knowledge and clinical principles required to begin treating safely and appropriately.
Training includes:
The focus throughout the course is on understanding why, where and when to treat, rather than simply reproducing an injection pattern.
- Relevant facial anatomy and physiology
- Facial ageing and volume loss
- Facial assessment
- Structured treatment planning
- Consultation principles
- Patient selection
- Indications and contraindications
- Understanding different types of dermal filler
- Product selection principles
- Injection techniques
- Injection points and treatment planning
- Facial assessment case studies
- Complication recognition
- Emergency management
- Aftercare and follow-up
- Professional responsibilities and safe practice
- Evidence- and science-informed clinical decision-making
Facial Assessment & Treatment Planning
Good filler treatment starts before the injection.
A major focus of Foundation Dermal Filler training is learning how to assess the face as a whole.
Delegates are introduced to:
Rather than treating an isolated line or area automatically, we want delegates to begin thinking clinically about what is creating the concern and whether dermal filler is actually the appropriate treatment.
- Facial ageing and volume loss
- Facial proportions and balance
- A structured facial assessment framework
- Identifying appropriate treatment indications
- Developing an individualised treatment plan
- Understanding when treatment may not be appropriate
Treatment Areas Covered
Your Foundation Dermal Filler Course will introduce the core treatment areas and techniques required to begin developing your filler practice.
Foundation treatment areas:
CHEEKS
PYRIFORM FOSSA
NASOLABIAL LINES
LIPS
For each treatment area, training considers:
The areas practically treated during model sessions will depend upon each model’s clinical indication, suitability and treatment plan.
- Relevant anatomy
- Facial assessment
- Appropriate patient selection
- Product selection
- Injection technique
- Injection depth and tissue plane
- Treatment planning
- Expected outcomes
- Potential complications
- Aftercare and follow-up
Your Practical Training Day
Bringing assessment, anatomy and technique together.
Your face-to-face training day is dedicated entirely to Dermal Filler.
We deliberately separate Foundation Dermal Filler and Foundation Botulinum Toxin into two dedicated practical training days.
There is a significant amount to absorb when learning injectable aesthetics for the first time. Providing a dedicated day for each treatment modality allows delegates more time to concentrate on the individual treatment, ask questions, develop their assessment skills and gain valuable supervised practical experience.
Training is intentionally kept to approximately 2–3 delegates, allowing greater access to your trainer and more meaningful hands-on learning.

Small Groups. More Meaningful Practical Experience.
We believe confidence develops through meaningful hands-on experience.
Our Foundation Dermal Filler courses are therefore intentionally kept to approximately 2–3 delegates.
Smaller groups provide more opportunity to ask questions, work closely with your trainer and actively participate in treatment rather than spending the majority of the practical day observing.
Delegates are encouraged to think through the entire treatment process — from assessment and product selection to injection technique and aftercare.
Your Complimentary Academy Delegate Pack
Resources and products to help you take your next steps.
Every Foundation Dermal Filler delegate receives a complimentary Academy Delegate Pack designed to support your learning beyond the training day.
Your course-specific pack includes a combination of:
Our aim is to give you useful resources and products that allow you to continue developing your product knowledge and putting your learning into practice after training.
Delegate pack contents and complimentary products may vary according to availability and supplier arrangements.

Understanding Dermal Filler Products
Not every dermal filler behaves in the same way, and product selection should be based on the patient, treatment indication, tissue characteristics and intended clinical outcome.
During your training, we introduce the principles behind selecting an appropriate filler rather than teaching delegates to use one product for every indication.
Your Delegate Pack may also contain selected dermal filler products or samples, allowing you to continue familiarising yourself with different professional products following your training.
Building Your Aesthetics Business
Starting safely involves more than learning how to inject.
Foundation training also includes guidance around the practical realities of introducing aesthetic treatments into your professional practice.
We discuss areas including:
You will also receive business resources within your Delegate Pack to refer back to once your training day has finished.
- Getting started in aesthetics
- Revenue and treatment pricing considerations
- Professional responsibilities
- Prescribing considerations
- Marketing your new service
- Developing your treatment offering
Ongoing Academy Support
Your support doesn’t finish when your course does.
Moving from supervised training into independent practice is an important stage of your development.
Aesthetic Precision Medical Training Academy therefore provides ongoing post-training educational support to help delegates consolidate their knowledge and confidence following Foundation training.
Our aim is not simply to train you for one day and hand you a certificate.
We want to provide a supportive Academy environment that continues to help you develop as you begin putting your new skills into practice.
Academy Graduate Benefits
Training with Aesthetic Precision also gives you access to our Academy graduate benefits.
Graduates receive access to exclusive discounts across selected professional aesthetic products, which may include:

These benefits are designed to support delegates as they continue developing their treatment portfolio following training.
