Our Foundation Botulinum Toxin Course is designed for registered healthcare professionals taking their first steps into aesthetic medicine.
Learning a new injectable treatment involves far more than memorising injection points. Our Foundation course has therefore been structured to give delegates the time to understand the science, anatomy, assessment and clinical decision-making behind treatment before putting those principles into practice.
Your learning begins before you arrive at the Academy with structured online pre-learning, followed by a dedicated full day focused solely on Botulinum Toxin.
This allows your face-to-face training to concentrate on consolidating your knowledge, developing your assessment and treatment-planning skills and gaining meaningful hands-on experience treating live models under close supervision.
Who Is This Course For?
The Foundation Botulinum Toxin Course has been developed for appropriately registered healthcare professionals who are looking to begin their journey into aesthetic medicine.
No previous aesthetic injecting experience is required.
The course provides the underpinning theoretical knowledge, clinical principles and supervised practical experience needed to begin developing safely and confidently within aesthetic practice.
Online Pre-Learning
Your learning begins before your practical training day.
Before attending the Academy, you will complete structured online e-learning introducing the foundation principles of Botulinum Toxin treatment.
The pre-learning has been designed to provide essential underpinning knowledge before you arrive, allowing your time within the Academy to focus on applying and consolidating that knowledge in a clinical environment.
This means your practical day isn’t spent trying to absorb an entirely new subject for the first time.
Instead, we can concentrate on assessment, anatomy, consultation, treatment planning, technique and practical application.
What You Will Learn
Your Foundation training introduces the key knowledge and clinical principles required to safely begin offering Botulinum Toxin treatments.
Training includes:
The course is designed to help you understand why you are treating, rather than simply learning a standard injection pattern.
- Facial ageing and assessment
- Characteristics of facial ageing
- Facial movements
- Dynamic and static ageing lines
- Consultation principles
- Structured patient assessment
- Botulinum Toxin pharmacology
- Mode of action
- Onset and duration
- Immunogenicity and resistance
- Contraindications
- Reconstitution
- Injection points and dosage principles
- Facial assessment and mapping
- Patient selection
- Treatment planning
- Complication recognition and management
- Aftercare and follow-up
- Professional responsibilities and safe practice
- Evidence- and science-informed clinical decision-making
Foundation Treatment Principles
During your training, you will develop an understanding of the core foundation upper-face Botulinum Toxin treatment areas and the assessment principles that underpin them.
For each treatment area we consider:
Treatment is always based around the individual patient rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
- Relevant facial anatomy
- Muscle function and movement
- Patient assessment
- Patient suitability
- Facial mapping
- Injection points
- Dosage considerations
- Individualised treatment planning
- Expected treatment outcomes
- Potential complications
- When treatment may not be appropriate
Your Practical Training Day
Putting theory into clinical practice.
Your face-to-face day is dedicated entirely to Botulinum Toxin training.
We deliberately do not combine Foundation Botulinum Toxin and Dermal Filler practical training into one day.
There is a significant amount to learn when entering aesthetic medicine for the first time. By providing a dedicated day for each treatment modality, delegates have more time to absorb their learning, ask questions, develop their clinical assessment skills and gain valuable supervised model experience.
With a maximum of approximately 2–3 delegates, practical training remains personal and interactive.

Small Groups. More Meaningful Model Time.
We believe practical confidence develops through experience.
For that reason, our Foundation courses are intentionally taught in small groups of approximately 2–3 delegates.
This allows more direct access to your trainer, greater opportunity to ask questions and, importantly, more meaningful hands-on practical experience.
Rather than spending your practical training simply observing, you will be encouraged to assess, plan and actively participate in your model treatments under supervision.

Building Your Aesthetics Business
Clinical training is only one part of starting your journey.
We understand that completing your first aesthetics qualification can leave you with questions that go far beyond injection technique.
How do you begin putting your training into practice?
How does prescribing work?
How should you start thinking about your treatment pricing?
How do you begin attracting patients?
What resources do you need?
Business development is therefore incorporated into your Foundation training.
Alongside the teaching delivered during your practical day, you will receive business resources to take away and refer back to, helping you navigate some of the practical considerations involved in starting and developing your aesthetic practice.
Ongoing Academy Support
Your support doesn’t end when your training day does.
Taking the step from supervised training to beginning to treat independently is an important part of your development.
Aesthetic Precision Medical Training Academy therefore provides ongoing post-training educational support to our delegates as they begin consolidating their skills.
You won’t simply receive your certificate and be expected to navigate your next steps alone.
Our aim is to build an Academy community where delegates can continue developing their knowledge and confidence beyond the classroom.
Academy Graduate Benefits
Once you have trained with Aesthetic Precision, you will also have access to exclusive Academy graduate discounts across selected professional aesthetic products.
These may include selected:
Dermal Fillers | Skin Boosters | Polynucleotides | Professional Aesthetic Products
This provides an additional benefit to our Academy graduates as they continue building and developing their treatment portfolio.
Product ranges and discounts may vary according to supplier arrangements.
