This focused half-day course provides practitioners with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely assess, select and perform professional chemical peel treatments.

Delegates will explore different types and strengths of chemical peels, how they interact with the skin, appropriate indications, patient selection, contraindications, skin preparation, treatment protocols, neutralisation where required, aftercare and complication management.

Training will cover the use of chemical peels for concerns including pigmentation, acne, photoageing, fine lines, texture and general skin rejuvenation, with an emphasis on selecting the appropriate peel for the individual patient.

The course includes extensive hands-on training with live models, helping delegates develop confidence in skin assessment, peel selection and safe clinical application.

Chemical Peel Training

Chemical Peel training introduces the principles required to safely assess and treat patients using professional chemical peel treatments. Training includes:

  • Skin anatomy and barrier function
  • Principles of chemical exfoliation
  • Understanding different peel types
  • Peel depth and strength
  • Patient assessment
  • Fitzpatrick skin typing
  • Patient selection
  • Indications and contraindications
  • Product-selection principles
  • Skin preparation
  • Treatment application
  • Treatment timing
  • Clinical endpoints
  • Neutralisation where appropriate
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk
  • Complication prevention
  • Aftercare
  • Treatment intervals
  • Managing patient expectations

Delegates will learn that different peel formulations, strengths and ingredients require different approaches and should be selected according to the individual patient rather than following one universal protocol.

Skin Assessment & Treatment Planning

Good skin treatment begins with assessment. Delegates will develop a structured approach to evaluating:

  • Skin type
  • Skin condition
  • Primary patient concerns
  • Medical history
  • Previous treatments
  • Pigmentation risk
  • Barrier health
  • Sensitivity
  • Treatment expectations
  • Appropriate treatment intensity
  • Appropriate treatment sequencing

Particular emphasis is placed on identifying patients who may be at increased risk of irritation, pigmentary change or other adverse outcomes.

Practical Live-Model Training

A significant proportion of the face-to-face session is dedicated to practical treatment. Delegates will participate in:

  • Consultation
  • Skin assessment
  • Patient selection
  • Clinical photography
  • Treatment planning
  • Chemical Peel treatment
  • Product and treatment selection
  • Identifying appropriate clinical endpoints
  • Aftercare
  • Documentation

Training is delivered within a supportive small-group environment with close supervision and individual feedback. The aim is not simply to complete the procedure, but to understand why the treatment has been selected and how it should be adapted to the individual patient.
