Advance Your Assessment, Structural Rejuvenation & Dermal Filler Practice

CPD Accredited | 8 CPD Credits | Advanced Clinical Training | Live Models | Small-Group Practical Education

Our Advanced Dermal Filler Course is designed for aesthetic practitioners who have already completed Foundation Dermal Filler training and are ready to progress beyond basic treatment areas into more advanced facial assessment, structural rejuvenation and treatment planning.

Advanced dermal filler treatment is not simply about learning additional injection points.

It requires an understanding of facial ageing, structural change, tissue support, product characteristics, injection planes and how individual treatment areas work together to influence overall facial balance.

This course has therefore been developed around clinical reasoning and whole-face assessment, helping delegates make more considered, individualised treatment decisions rather than treating areas in isolation.

Who Is This Course For?

The Advanced Dermal Filler Course is designed for appropriately registered healthcare professionals who have already completed recognised Foundation Dermal Filler training and want to progress their assessment, treatment-planning and injection skills.

It is ideal for practitioners looking to:

Delegates should already understand the fundamental principles of consultation, facial anatomy, dermal filler treatment and complication management before attending.

  • Expand their dermal filler treatment portfolio
  • Progress beyond Foundation-level treatment areas
  • Develop a more advanced approach to facial assessment
  • Understand structural rejuvenation
  • Improve product-selection decisions
  • Develop greater confidence selecting appropriate injection techniques and tissue planes
  • Treat the face more holistically
  • Strengthen clinical reasoning and treatment planning
  • Develop greater confidence managing more complex aesthetic presentations

Moving Beyond Foundation Practice

Foundation training teaches the core principles needed to begin practising safely.

Advanced training asks you to look at the face differently.

Rather than focusing solely on an individual line or treatment area, delegates are encouraged to consider:

Where has structural support been lost?

What is contributing to the patient’s concern?

Which area should be prioritised?

Which product and injection approach is most appropriate?

How will treatment of one area influence another?

And is dermal filler actually indicated?

This approach helps develop the clinical reasoning required to create more considered, balanced and individualised treatment plans.

Advanced Treatment Areas

The course introduces assessment and treatment principles for a range of advanced dermal filler indications.

Areas covered include:

For each treatment area, delegates will explore:

The exact areas treated during practical sessions will depend upon the clinical indications and suitability of the live models available.

  • Temples
  • Angle of the mandible
  • Jawline
  • Marionette lines
  • Chin
  • Pre-jowl sulcus
  • Relevant anatomy
  • Structural ageing
  • Clinical assessment
  • Patient selection
  • Treatment indications
  • Product-selection principles
  • Injection technique
  • Appropriate tissue plane and depth
  • Treatment volumes
  • Facial balance and proportion
  • Expected treatment outcomes
  • Potential complications
  • Risk reduction
  • When treatment may not be appropriate

Advanced Dermal Filler Science

An important part of progressing as a filler practitioner is understanding that different products do not behave in the same way.

Advanced training develops your understanding of dermal filler science and how product characteristics influence clinical decision-making.

Rather than selecting filler based solely on brand or familiarity, delegates are encouraged to consider the treatment indication, tissue characteristics, required structural support, movement and desired clinical outcome when selecting a product.

The aim is to develop more confident and clinically appropriate product-selection decisions.

Principles of Structural Rejuvenation

Treat the face, not simply the line.

Ageing occurs through changes across multiple anatomical layers of the face.

Advanced treatment planning therefore requires consideration of structural support, volume redistribution, tissue changes and facial proportions rather than simply placing filler directly into the area of concern.

Delegates are introduced to the principles of structural rejuvenation, helping them understand how strategically planned treatment can support facial balance while maintaining natural movement and individual characteristics.

Advanced Facial Assessment & Treatment Planning

Assessment forms a major part of this course.

Delegates will develop a more structured approach to analysing the face and identifying the anatomical and structural factors contributing to the patient’s presentation.

Training encourages you to consider:

The goal is to move away from area-led treatment and towards patient-led clinical planning.

  • Whole-face assessment
  • Facial proportions
  • Structural support
  • Volume loss
  • Tissue characteristics
  • Symmetry and asymmetry
  • Patient expectations
  • Treatment priorities
  • Appropriate sequencing of treatment
  • Product selection
  • When treatment should be staged
  • When not to treat

Course programme

  1. Registration & Introductions

Introduction to the course, learning objectives and structure of the Advanced training day.

  2. Advanced Dermal Filler Science

Developing a deeper understanding of dermal filler characteristics and how product science influences clinical treatment decisions.

  3. Principles of Structural Rejuvenation

Exploring the structural changes associated with facial ageing and how these principles can inform advanced treatment planning.

  4. Clinical Decision-Making

Developing the clinical reasoning required to select appropriate treatment areas, products and techniques for the individual patient.

  5. Advanced Facial Assessment & Treatment Planning

A structured approach to whole-face assessment, prioritising treatment and developing individualised treatment plans.

  6. Advanced Injection Principles

Building upon Foundation injection skills and exploring advanced considerations around:

    • Injection technique
    • Depth and tissue plane
    • Product placement
    • Treatment volumes
    • Needle and cannula considerations where appropriate
    • Risk reduction
    • Anatomical awareness
  7. Clinical Reasoning & Advanced Treatment Areas

Applying assessment and clinical reasoning to advanced dermal filler indications including:

Temples | Angle of Mandible | Jawline | Marionette Lines | Chin | Pre-jowl Sulcus

  8. Complication Management

Advanced treatment requires a strong understanding of risk.

The course revisits the recognition, prevention and management of dermal filler complications, with particular consideration given to safe practice when treating advanced anatomical areas.

  9. Theoretical Assessment

Following completion of the theoretical teaching, delegates complete a short knowledge assessment to demonstrate their understanding of the key learning outcomes before progressing to the practical element of the course.

This helps ensure that underpinning knowledge has been consolidated before advanced techniques are applied clinically.

  10. Practical Session & Competency Assessment

Putting advanced clinical reasoning into practice.

Delegates will observe a live tutor demonstration before progressing to supervised practical treatment of suitable live models.

During the practical session, delegates are expected to participate throughout the treatment journey, including:

Practical competency is assessed throughout using a structured competency framework, supporting safe clinical practice, appropriate treatment planning and proficient injection technique.

The objective is not simply to successfully perform an injection.

Delegates should be able to explain and justify the clinical decisions behind their treatment plan.

    • Consultation
    • Advanced facial assessment
    • Identifying treatment priorities
    • Developing the treatment plan
    • Product selection
    • Clinical photography
    • Selecting the appropriate injection approach
    • Practical treatment
    • Aftercare
    • Documentation

Small-Group Advanced Training

Advanced learning benefits from close supervision, discussion and individual feedback.

Training is therefore intentionally kept to approximately 2–3 delegates, providing greater opportunity to explore real clinical cases and discuss different approaches to treatment.

Small groups also allow delegates to work closely with their trainer throughout assessment and practical treatment, helping to develop clinical confidence rather than simply observing techniques being demonstrated.
